PAST EVENT

Join us in a cool event space over downtown Atlanta (where I used to live, I'll point out our apartment) to discuss AI, social media, and VR. Social media companies, tech giants, and academics are vacuuming up your tweets, FB posts, Youtube videos, and Instagram images. They will come for your social VR digital exhaust. As social VR explodes on today's scene, due to coronavirus, loneliness, and better headsets, how will we, citizens of a nascent metaverse, fare? Will we be microorganisms under computational microscopes? Or can AI and machine learning and data science help us create new and better social media spaces, places, and platforms? Come help us noodle these oncoming issues, so we can be proactive, and not reactive, or even blindsided by an ethical and moral tsunami.

Our discussions take place during the AAAI (Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence) Conference on Web and Social Media, originally scheduled to take place in Atlanta but now occurring virtually (tho this informal meetup is unaffiliated with the ICWSM conference).
